Use what you have

Rather than bemoan what you have not
People might wonder why I post pictures of what I make and do. Will it matter in 20 years? Maybe not but you know the old saying: "a butterfly flutters its wings in...and the whole world changes"

I think that once in a while someone may look at a loaf of fresh baked bread, or a painting of a rose or a cover of a book and instead of b****ing about what they don't have, can't do or don't know, they will see the possibilities. So just find something to do and DO IT.

Busy trash to treasure furniture

I am always buying poor beat up furniture pieces for future projects so today I got out the paint, glue and decal paper for some awesome shabby chic results...Love the crackle finish.

Preparing for a storm is like preparing for party guests. It might not show up but at least you've cleaned up in anticipation. Yard work today! Hoping Sandy stays out to sea
I'm feeling rebellious today...peanut butter fudge for breakfast

I'm a typical 20th century Grandma...Never mind that I'm off by a few years... My first grandson was born in this 21st century...a century of tattoos, pastel hair, Ipods and ipads, terrorists  and terror. This century's grandmothers will be a different breed. They will be caretakers for their parents and grandchildren. They will sport stretched out artwork and work til they are 70. Their children will die before them because of lack of activity and gluttony and greed...The lessons learned will not be soon enough to save them.

A mouse in the house woke the dog up and therefore me. I love that she growls as she presses against me for protection. Some guard poodle!

Bird seed hangers

Make it tough on the birds to over stuff and easy on your pocket book.
Super easy
1 Packet of geletin dissolved in 1/2 cup warm water
3 tablespoons of corn syrup
3/4 cup flour

Mix together and then add 4 cups Wild Bird seed

Press into molds...I did this by using a sandwich bag and pressing firmly...First I inserted a loop of  twine deep into the mold.
let sit overnight...demold and hang for the birds

keep refrigerated until ready to use
